What You Should Know About Psychic Reading Scams
Psychic Scams - Cons – Frauds - Ripoffs
Seekers of Advice, Beware!
Unfortunately, in this business of Psychic consultation, there are frauds, fakes, and people who are not one bit concerned about you as a client. They will take everything you have if you are willing to give it to them.
There is one main story, upon which there are many variations of the same theme, that a fake psychic will use. And it goes something like this…
A woman or a man walks into a psychic place of business or arranges a phone consultation. They will begin pouring their heart out in terms of what their problems have been, be it lost relationships, lost finances, or any number of difficulties associated with the human condition. The fake psychic will sit there listening quietly. They will wait until the person is completely finished. And then the story that the person will be told, goes something like this...
“I see that you were born under a lucky star and a lucky sign. But unfortunately, I also see that there has been a spell cast on you and your family. It is this darkness that is holding you back and standing between you and your happiness. It must’ve been fate that brought you to me today because I can help you. I have the ability to restore your lost love and remove this curse from you and your family once in forever. “
It is here that the fake Psychic will introduce whatever means they use to lure the client into believing in them. They will offer ‘blessed’ candles, magic spells, crystals, stones, beads, or any number of various items that they ‘will bestow magic onto’ and give to the person to restore their lost, love, money, and happiness. All the client has to do is pay them… $2000. For $2000, everything that the client is going through will disappear and happiness will be restored. Guaranteed. As is so often the case the client gladly pays $2000 for the candles or spells or whatever it is, so that they can have their happiness back. After all, isn’t their happiness worth at least $2000? They pay the money, they take the candles, and they go along and merry way. Of course, this does not work. Their love doesn’t return, their money doesn’t materialize, and they are even more unhappy and feeling more hopeless than they were to begin with. They go back to the psychic and complain that the money they paid, and the candles or whatever it is that they bought didn’t work. The Psychic’s comment or response is almost always…
“Oh, I see now. The spell on you is very strong and goes back many generations. I did not see that at first, but now I do. So, now you need, and I will ‘prepare’ for you, special candles, spells, etc. and this will definitely restore your happiness, cleaning and clearing your entire family history of at least 300 years. (Or whatever) But I am going to need to use ‘special candles,’ or more powerful spells, or higher quality crystals, to be able to reach back into the generations before your birth, and clean the original spell and the darkness so that your happiness will be restored. In order to do this, the materials and energy must be very powerful. That will require unique energy and the cost for this will be $10,000. For $10,000 everything that you told me, all the heartache and sorrow and loss will disappear and your loved one will return, your money will materialize and you will once again be happier than you ever were.”
Again, the distraught client reaches into his or her wallet and plunks down $10,000. After all isn’t their happiness worth a measly $10,000? They are told to return in three days. Upon returning, they will be given the special candles, or engage in the special spells or whatever nonsense that is being sold to them to separate them from their money. Three days go by, the client returns, and they are given the items in question. They feel relieved that last their happiness is going to return, and they leave feeling reassured. Two weeks maybe a month goes by and nothing changes. They are beside themselves with sorrow and grief, and even more depressed and deeply unhappy than they were to begin with. But, now they are angry. They march back to the psychic and demand to have their $12,000 returned. It is at that point the fake psychic will say...
“Now I see that not only is there a spell on you, but I see that there is also a spell on your loved ones and in order to clear that and also to release any current and future children that may be involved, a special set of circumstances must be employed to cover all the people involved. This will take an enormous amount of energy and effort on my part and I would be happy to do this for you, because I really care about your happiness and your future. I will be willing to take on this entire clearing of the darkness around you and your loved ones and to dispel this darkness once in forever. But it will take all of my energy and weeks of my time to be able to accomplish this. I can do it. I guarantee you I can do it. And I would be happy to do it for you… for $30,000…”
I think you can see where this is going...
This story can take many forms and go in many directions, but this is the basic premise of how fake psychics bilk unsuspecting clients out of thousands even tens of thousands of dollars. You may say to yourself, I would never fall for such a trap. I would see right through such a superficial story like that. But very often the fake psychics do possess a degree of intuitive ability. They are able to tell clients things about themselves, maybe even about their family and convince them that they are locked in and know all about what’s going on. They may even be able to come up with names that resonate with individuals involved. When you take a person who is extremely vulnerable, because of the deep desperation and difficulty they have been going through and you convince them that you have the ability to help them, then it is not so difficult to understand why some, not all, but some would fall for this.
Here are the five rules to help you identify and stay away from fake psychics, who are merely swindlers and con artists.
Never pay Psychic more than their advertised fees. If they don’t advertise their fees for all the public to see and charge each person the same amount for the same services, then do not go there.
Beware of neon! Fake psychics, often use storefronts, neon signs and a ‘big hand’ out in front of their place of business, especially palm readers, to lure customers in. These are some of the most obvious places where people get fleeced. Avoid these as they are almost always dens of fraud and negativity.
Reputable psychics will advertise and will have testimonials of people who have benefited from their services. They will either have a place of business and a website or perhaps just a website. In this age of the internet, it is easy to follow up and check to see if there are any negative reviews about a psychic and their interaction with the public. Believe it or not people do report negative experiences. Use these services to your benefit.
Ask friends for referrals. One of the best sources of finding a talented, dedicated, and caring psychic is a referral from a friend who has already sought their advice, and found that the information they were given proved to be true. Even though friends don’t often talk about their visits to psychics, you would be surprised how many would be happy to give you a referral if you simply asked.
Check to see how long they have been in business, if they have a location and how long they have been at that location, and that their reputation as being real is able to be substantiated. Being a psychic is not an easy career. In many cases, you’re only as good as your last prediction. It’s unfortunate, but a reality that there are people in the world who will take advantage of the misfortunes of others and the vulnerability of those who are going through hard times. But believe me, they are there and they don’t care. All they care is about separating you from your money.
Real psychics are compassionate, have empathy and a deep desire to truly help their clients. Yes, they get paid for the services, but this allows them to help even more people than they are otherwise could. A real psychic will look to help first and charge a fee second. Real psychics will tell you the truth, whatever that is, and help you make decisions and plan strategy to get you through hard times. They will never charge you more than the fee that they have quoted you before you sit down. Never pay any Psychic more unless you, yourself request more time or an additional appointment.
Follow these guides, and you will never have the misfortune of running into someone of such disreputable character as a fake psychic.
